Review Of The Evo 4G: Pros and Cons

The HTC Evo 4G smartphone is Sprint’s answer to the Apple iPhone, and features a number of both positive and negative features. Since it was introduced in 2010 there has been much speculation and anticipation about the phone and how its long list of impressive features would actually work out.

The Pros
The HTC Evo delivers impressive 4G speeds that make normal 3G smart phones extremely slow. Another impressive feature is that the phone has a new mobile hot-spot feature which lets you connect up to eight devices to the phone, a feat very few phones have even attempted. The phone has also adapted to the increasing popularity of video-chatting. Not only does the phone have the speed and capacity for video chats, it also comes with a front-facing video camera that has 8 megapixels and HD video recording abilities not only making video chatting easy but delivering impressive video quality for a cell phone. The screen of the HTC Evos is large for a phone at an impressive 4.3 inches and even includes an HDMI port.

The Cons
Although there is an array of positive features that appear on the HTC Evo, there are also some drawbacks to this phone as well that potential buyers should be aware of prior to running out and purchasing the phone. The first thing to be aware of is the battery, the battery on the Evo drains very quickly requiring constant charging, which can be a hassle for individuals on the go. The Sprint 4G networks is fairly limited meaning that many individuals may not get the services they expect. There is also a mandatory 10 premium data add on for those outside of the 4G service area, which can be a hassel for new Evo users. There is also no Bluetooth voice-activated dialing features, which is something that appears on a variety of other smart phones.
